Enhancing cycling safety in Ontario

The Ontario Medical Association prepared this policy paper in August, 2011. The paper discusses the benefits of cycling, and makes recommendations to improve cycling safety so Ontarians can be safe while also being active.

The recommendations include:

  • Direction for municipal and provincial government
  • Infrastructure requirements
  • Education and training for new drivers
  • The use of bike helmets

The full paper is available on the OMA’s website.
