community? Do you want to work with an organization that addresses a leading public health issue?

If you’re between the ages of 1 and 44, you are more likely to die from injury than any other cause. Leading causes include falls, poisoning and vehicle collisions. Preventable injuries cost the Canadian economy $29.4 billion annually.

Parachute is Canada’s national charity dedicated to injury prevention that was formed in July 2012. We envision a Canada free of serious injuries, with Canadians living long lives to the fullest. Our mission: to create a safer Canada by preventing serious and fatal injuries through evidence-based solutions that advocate and educate.

Do you have governance skills, nonprofit finance experience or leadership experience in the areas of cybersecurity, human resources, compliance or charitable law? Are you a public relations, public policy, or fundraising professional? Consider joining our Board.

Volunteering with Parachute provides a fulfilling opportunity to support an organization making a difference that is committed to building a team reflective of the diversity of those we serve. We encourage applications from equity-seeking communities. Parachute also encourages those early to midway in their careers to apply. Preference will be given to candidates who will enhance the diversity, depth and competencies of our board.

All applicants nationwide will be considered: however, those located in Eastern Canada (New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island), Western Canada (Alberta) and Northern Canada (Nunavut, Northwest Territories, Yukon) are strongly encouraged to apply.

Please send your expression of interest to nvanlangen@parachute.ca no later than 3 p.m. ET on Friday, March 10, 2023.
