
Together, Hydro One and Parachute inform and educate Ontarians to move, live, and play safely through the annual Parachute’s Safe Kids Week public awareness campaign, focused on the top injury issues that affect children at home, at play and on the road. Based on research, Parachute selects the key messages for each annual topic, and corresponding hashtags to support the campaign on social media. The 2020 topic will be poison prevention, focusing on the dangers of unintentional child poisoning from cannabis edibles.
As the lead provincial sponsor, Hydro One supports the implementation of the Safe Kids Week campaign in Ontario including a public-facing launch event, community bursaries to support local initiatives throughout the week, delivery of campaign kits to community partners, media outreach, and a social media campaign.
